Let Your Little Animals Out of Their Cages at the Turtle Back Zoo

My little animals, aka, my children, love to go to the zoo, and I love it as much as they do. Their faces are always priceless as they watch the monkeys swing from tree to tree, or the mountain lions pace back and forth along the cage. Our go to zoo, is Van Saun Park in Paramus. They have a great park area, with different sized jungle gyms for your little ones to your crazy climbers. The train that loops the zoo area is always a thrill for the kids, and during the spring and summer, there are pony rides, and a carousel, but for our first trip to the zoo this year, I decided to take the kids to the Turtle Back Zoo.

This Zoo, is a bit larger than Van Saun Park, but not to overwhelming for you, or for your children. They have everything from black bears, and penguins, to an adorable prairie dog exhibit, full of tunnels, nooks and crannies. The part my four year old most enjoys is the big barn area which houses horses, pigs, chickens, goats and sheep. You are even allowed to go into the pen with the sheep to feed and pet them. They also have a free train, carousel, pony rides,a cafeteria with your usual pizza, chicken fingers and french fries, and a spongy tree house to climb on, complete with a twisty slide.

The place is incredibly clean and the animals are all extremely healthy and kept in beautifully maintained habitats.

Turtle Back is right off of the Garden State Parkway, and easy to find. The admission is $9 for adults, $6 for children and free for under 2 ,they are open Sunday through Monday.

My family loves it and I know you will too!!
